General Information

• MAGIC Helpdesk (requires login) - submit a request for support or a faculty web site. If you have an urgent need, contact us after submitting the request.
  • How to configure IE to automatically log in user on Magic Helpdesk on local intranet
    
    1. Click on Tools | Internet Options.
    2. Select the tab security.
    3. Select Trusted Sites and remove the magicvm.southwest.tn.edu web site address.
    4. Select Local Internet Zone and add the magicvm.southwest.tn.edu web site address.
    
    Note: In addition consider unchecking the Internet Explorer Option Enable Integrated Windows Authentication on the workstation, locate this under the tab advanced in I.E.
    
• Student email list - obtain a course list of student Southwest email addresses by entering the course call #.

Syllabus Help

• Create a new Syllabus -
  • Go to the Blank Syllabus Page in a browser
  • Select  File/Save Page As (or Ctrl S)
  • Save the file to your local computer as an .htm file (you may have to change the drop down box)
  • Edit the red text in Dreamweaver
  • Save the file
  • Send the file to Kendall at kgloster@southwest.tn.edu
  1. Update an existing Syllabus
  • Place your mouse over the link "SyllabusEditForm.dot". Right click. A menu will appear.
    Select "Save As". (You may be asked for your username and password. Use your school username and password. Make sure to put 'TECHNET/' before your username.)
  • Save the file to your desktop. SyllabusEditForm.dot
  • Find the file on your desktop and open it in Microsoft Word.
  • Click on the grey box to type in your information. Click to activate the drop down box.
  • Once you have entered all the updated information save the document on your desktop.
  • Open your mail program, start a new message and put "Syllabus Update" in the Subject line, attach the saved document, with your updates, and send it to kgloster@southwest.tn.edu
